Did we need another dog? No.
Did we want another dog? Yes.
Is it ANY of any one's business that we have another dog? I don't think so.
Do I want your advice? No, and I never did.
We know a couple of people who, every time we have adopted, been pregnant, or in this case, brought home a dog, feel compelled to insist to us that we are crazy, and one has even said, "What do you think you are doing?"
OK. You know what's crazy?
Having kids and then putting them in daycare. Be an adult and stay home and raise them.
Spanking is crazy--how can you teach your children kindness and appropriate conflict resolution if you are hitting them? Be creative and find better ways to guide your children--unless you really are too lazy.
Speaking of the new dog...Reggie is fantastic! I am immersing myself in the world of Cesar Millan and it's working!!! For the first time EVER, Stanley sat and waited in place for his bowl of food--ritual.
I have them both off the bed and on the floor--although they are allowed on the couch when invited (as in now, both sitting beside me being ever so cute!!).
We ran together on the road--one on each side of me. Going to try it with the stroller this weekend so this can be a family affair.
The thing I like the most about "Cesar's Way" is that he discourages talking to a dog and encourages humans to treat dogs as dogs, not as people. I like that. No violence, no excessive words, no conversations. Exercise. Discipline. Affection. I can do this.
Reggie was great at the vet today and tested negative for heart worm (yay!). He takes pills without a fuss, and is probably the sweetest, most gentle dog I have ever met.
Gotta' love a Rottie (and whatever the heck he's mixed with)!
Did we need another dog? You bet...
